I teach organic chemistry labs and enjoy providing our students with experiments that are beyond "cookbook chemistry." I am currently developing a second semester organic lab that mimics a real research experience where students first mimic a published synthesis, then propose future work based in the literature. After that proposal they they have the opportunity to design their own project based off of their findings and hypotheses.

I do not formally pursue research at the College of Wooster. However, I have a masters degree in both chemistry and education. I am interested in pursuing chemistry education research and I believe there is a spot for that here at Wooster.
