Teaching Interests: I recently moved from 6 years at New College of Florida teaching primarily organic chemistry and organometallic chemistry & catalysis. I am starting this Fall 2024 at Butler University, where I am teaching organic chemistry this year.
Research Interests: I am a synthetic organometallic chemist; my group is currently working on synthesizing a series of bisphosphine ligands, their ruthenium(II) complexes, and testing these complexes in small molecular organic catalysis. I also do chemical education research focused on studying the impact of student interest and choice on learning outcomes, as well as meaningfully developing writing, chemical literacy, and problem solving skills.
