Gretchen Stanton

Gretchen Stanton joins the board to help represent the community college side of chemical education. She participated in the most recent ALOC workshop and faculty learning community. She received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of California, Riverside. After culminating her doctoral studies at the University of Pennsylvania with a collaboration in Tarragona, Spain, she went to teach at Pierce College. During this time, she also taught organic chemistry at the Keck Science Department at the Claremont Colleges for two years. There, she embraced her love of teaching and outreach and served as a faculty mentor for Keck Science's inaugural Summer Science Immersion Program for incoming freshman. After teaching at Fullerton College for 5 years, she joined the chemistry department at College of the Canyons in 2021 and coordinates the organic chemistry program. She is passionate about using organic chemistry to develop transferrable skills.
